"Dans ta cuve", a Belgian blog that focusses on film photography and everything involved has reviewed my latest book "memories from another world".
The French review is available here: https://www.danstacuve.org/livre-memories-from-another-world-de-tim-heubeck/
And for everyone who can't speak French, here is the English translation of their review:
This month, we're looking at Tim Heubeck's fourth book, Memories from an other world. The photographer and German blogger, here treats the theme of memory and offers us a cryptic book. Disturbing by essence, Memories from another world leaves a strange sensation after reading. An strange impression, penetrating and lasting, as if you had already experienced these experiences before.
Tim Heubeck offers us here a disconcerting photographic trip. Throughout the pages, we discover images of a mysterious aura. Some photographs take you by the throat and created curiosity, others are a little more confidential, but equally captivating. The dynamic composition attracts the eye and the deep blacks accentuate the mysterious aspect of the theme.
The book has a quality edition, the use of A4 format provides excellent visibility and comfortable access to images. A very good choice, because they are full of details and we appreciate getting lost in the pages. The prints and the grammage give the publication a nice finish. We regret nevertheless a rather slender cover, lack of rigidity lends it a catalog look.
Finally, Memories from another world is a concept book of great complexity giving the reader an attractive reflection on the feeling of déjà-vu. On the form, the book enjoys a great achievement in publishing. As for content, Tim Heubeck manages to introduce the reader into intrigue, worry and fantasy. A break of normality, for a journey to the heart of memory.
